An open method · not a fund

Money is only one element. Invest the whole table.

Projects run on money, but also on AI tokens, machine time, energy, human attention, care, knowledge and civic engagement. The Elements Investments is an open method for choosing that mix on purpose, committing it in small batches, and reviewing it as one portfolio.

  1. 1Choose an element
  2. 2Commit a batch
  3. 3Tell one person

About three minutes · no sign-up · nothing stored

Step 1 · Choose

Ten investable resources

Each element has a definition, a unit you can measure it in, and the kind of return you hope to see. Select a tile to read it, then commit to it.

Step 1 · Not sure yet?

Which element is your project short of?

Five quick questions about a project you care about. You get a suggested compound and a first small batch, ready to commit to.

  • About one minute, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser; nothing is stored or sent
  • A starting point for a conversation, not a diagnosis

Step 2 · Commit

Make one small, real commitment

Pick an element, a size and a date. Small and time-boxed beats big and vague. You get a card, a calendar check-in and a link to tell others. Nothing is sent or stored.

1What will you invest?

Money is left out on purpose: this is about everything else you can give. Why?

2How much?

3

4By when?

A promise to yourself, made visible. Voluntary, no money, no return.

Step 3 · Tell

Tell one person. That’s an investment too.

Telling someone puts the Network element to work: one warm introduction can beat a month of ads. Choose who, adjust the words, and send it your way.

1Who will you tell?

2

Edit freely. Your invite link is added when you send.

3Your invite link

The link holds only your first name (if given) and your commitment, after the # sign, so it never reaches a server. People who open it get a personal welcome.

Send it your way

Each button opens the app you pick with your message filled in. Nothing is posted until you press send there.

Or post an image

Commit first and your commitment appears on the image.

How it works

Four steps, repeated

Behind the three moves sits a simple method for projects. The worked examples follow one project, Heat Protection Solutions. They are illustrative.

  1. 01

    Aim

Name the outcome in one sentence and how you will know it happened.

    Example

Raise awareness“Fifty practitioners use the heat checklist this summer.”

Ask: what will be true, for whom, by when?

  2. 02

    Mix

Ask which elements are actually scarce for this aim. Often it is attention or expertise, not cash. Write the mix down as percentages, a “compound”.

    Example

Ask: if you had double of one element, which would change the most?

  3. 03

    Commit in small batches

Put in a small, time-boxed batch: twenty hours, one million tokens, one introduction. Small batches keep mistakes cheap and learning fast.

    Example

    20 hours1M tokens1 introduction

Ask: what is the smallest batch that would teach you something?

  4. 04

    Review as a portfolio

Every few weeks, compare all projects side by side. Feed what is working, pause what is not, and rebalance the mix.

    Example

Feed Network: practitioners are asking for it. Pause AI drafting: there are enough drafts.

Ask: which project would you feed, and which would you pause?

Element

One kind of resource you can invest, with a unit to measure it. Attention is counted in hours.

Compound

The mix a project runs on, written as shares of 100, largest first.

Batch

A small, time-boxed commitment you review before adding the next one.

The portfolio

Projects as compounds

The initiatives below belong to the Humanity Solutions family of websites. The mixes shown are illustrative examples of how the method describes a project. They are not audited figures and not offers.

For project teams · Mix builder

Sketch your own compound

Name a project, start from a template, and move the sliders to describe what it needs. The builder shows the compound, checks its focus, and plans a first small batch. Everything stays in your browser.

Sliders are relative weights. Shares always add up to 100.

Contribute

Add an element, a project, or a pledge

Before you write: we only accept non-monetary pledges (time, compute, energy, care, knowledge, introductions, lawful civic engagement) and ideas. We do not accept money for a return, and nothing you pledge earns a return, share or payout. Every submission is reviewed by a person before anything is published. See the contribution terms.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers

Can’t find yours? Ask a question and a person will reply.

Is The Elements Investments an investment fund?

No. It is a method and a showcase published by Humanity Solutions. It is not a fund, a crowdfunding platform, a bank or an investment firm, and nothing here is an offer of securities or investment advice. See the legal notice.

Can I put money in?

No. We do not accept money through this site, in any form, in exchange for a return, interest, share, profit right, token or certificate. Please do not offer cash, crypto or loans. That is also why money is not on the commitment list: the commitments here are about everything else you can give, such as time, compute, energy, care, knowledge, introductions or lawful civic engagement.

What does “return” mean here?

The outcome a project hopes for, such as learning, reach or impact. It never means a financial payout to contributors.

What happens when I press “I commit”?

Nothing is sent or stored. It is a promise to yourself, made visible: you get a card, a calendar check-in and a link to tell others. If you want a project in the portfolio to count on it, offer it as a pledge and a person will reply.

Is the commitment card a certificate or an investment?

No. It is a personal note of a voluntary commitment. It is not a certificate, share or token, has no monetary value and earns no return.

What happens after I send a pledge?

A person at Humanity Solutions reviews every submission. We may reply with questions, decline, shorten or edit it, and we publish nothing without your agreement. You can withdraw a pledge at any time by email. See the contribution terms.

Can I use the method for my own projects?

Yes. The method is open: name an aim, choose a mix, commit in small batches, and review everything as one portfolio. The scarcity check, the commitment maker and the mix builder are free and run entirely in your browser.

Are the portfolio numbers real?

The mixes shown are illustrative examples of how the method describes a project. They are not audited figures, not a forecast and not offers. Anything not verified is labelled as an example.

What counts as civic capital?

Lawful, transparent and unpaid participation: volunteering, public consultations, petitions and community organising. We do no paid lobbying, do not trade influence, and do not sell to government buyers.

Do you track visitors?

No. This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no external trackers or fonts. The check, the commitment maker and the builder run in your browser. Share and invite links keep their details after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server: a share link holds only the mix, name and aim you typed, an invite link only your first name (if given) and your commitment. The contact form opens your own email app and stores nothing. See the privacy notice.

Can I propose a new element?

Yes, please. Data, space, materials, reputation: the table is deliberately unfinished. Choose “Propose an element” in the form and give it a name, a two-letter symbol and a unit.

Guardrails

What this is, and what it is not

A method and a showcase.

Allocations shown are Humanity Solutions’ own, or illustrative examples.

Not a fund, not an offer of securities, not investment advice.

We take no money from the public, issue no shares, tokens or certificates to the public, and promise no returns. Nothing here is supervised by the AFM, because nothing here is a regulated financial service.

Civic capital is civic only.

It means lawful participation: volunteering, public consultations, petitions, community organising. No paid lobbying, no buying influence, and no selling to government buyers.

Honest numbers.

Anything not verified is labelled as an example.

Your move

Choose. Commit. Tell.

Three minutes, one small batch, one person told. That is how a project starts running on more than money.
